Electronic Control

The Vinetech unit is under full electronic control, powered by two 6 volt batteries enclosed in the weather proofed electronics box. The elimination of moving parts has resulted in a low maintenance control unit.

The light sensitive on-off switch ensures the unit operates only during the hours when birds are active. It needs no adjusting during the season – it is simply activated by changes in light intensity

Two Energizer 6 Volt Lantern Batteries should give a season or more of trouble free use.

Variable Random Firing

To prevent birds becoming accustomed to regular timed shots, the Vinetech fires groups of shots at random intervals, and can be adjusted to fire from 8 to 70 shots per hour.

Programmable Timer

The Vinetech is available with or without the timer. The unit without the timer is controlled by the light sensor.

Greater Sound Distribution

The Vinetech Gun is mounted on a 2 Metre high tripod and turns with each shot to fire over a 360° Arc so that noise distribution is maximized.

Integrated Design

The Vinetech Gun is designed for use with a 9Kg Gas Bottle, suspended from the centre of the tripod which stabilizes the whole unit. Tripod legs are easily removed for relocation and are adjustable for height.

Local Council Compliant

Because of the large selection of shot options available and the adjustable gas regulator, shots per hour and decibel levels can be selected to comply with most Council directives.

Reliability

As each gun is individually hand made, powder coated and tested for eight hours prior to packing, we enjoy a good reputation for reliability. The same electronics and design are also used in guns we manufacture for long line Tuna Fishing Boats. These are permanently mounted on the superstructure of the boats and are constantly exposed to salt water and extreme weather conditions. They still perform reliably with little maintenance. Vinetech Mobile Birdscarer

Have Gun Will Travel

The Vinetech Mobile Scaregun has been designed for use in vineyards, apple and stone fruit orchards and any other crops where a shotgun is normally used to scare away birds.

The gun is designed to clip on to a C-Dax Quick Smart Frame or U-bolt onto the front rack of any 4 wheel bike, and plugs in to the bike’s power supply. A 4kg LPG gas bottle (not included) is mounted on the frame. The barrel can be traversed from left to right, and the gun is fired using a button mounted on the handlebars.

Having used the bike mounted gas gun supplied to us by Vinetech for a whole season now. We are thrilled with the response that we have had. First and foremost is the saving on shot, we reduced our ammunition bill significantly. We found that the birds could not come to terms with the fact that the gun was always on the move, therefore reluctant to settle in any one spot. Safety is another aspect which is always a concern, with the Vinetech bike mounted gas gun for us means one less shot gun in the vineyard and of course you do not need a gun license to operate one.

With the Vinetech Motorbike Mounted Birdscarer we are able to aggressively chase flocks of birds from one end of the vineyard to the other. We can flush birds hiding within the canopy. Also the ability to alternate between blocks at random without disrupting normal work and to use any member or staff is a great advantage to us. We can cover large areas or concentrate on high pressure areas as required, also being able to shift birds such as wax-eyes is very impressive.

Apart from the substantial cost saving, the Vinetech Mobile is great as regards safety as there is no chance of any staff or visitors accidentally getting shot.

The employee that used this device has had many years bird scaring in Hawkes Bay and is totally dedicated to doing the best possible job. He was rather skeptical to say the least to begin with, but by the end of the season he was totally converted. This was no mean feat.

I have no reservations in recommending the Vinetech Mobile Birdscarer.

I have been troubled with vermin (kangaroos) for the last fifty years, and I have found there is no better way to clear them off my property than with a Vinetech Mobile Scaregun set up in the back of the farm ute.
 
I usually go around the farm early in the morning or just before dark.
